Please forgive the lack of clarity in this photo, but this is what I came out to find when I let the chickens out to free-range. Really? No wonder the chicken food has been disappearing quickly. I just thought the hens were storing up for the winter, when in reality the rodents were taking it all! I am not comfortable putting down poison, even in the bait stations. I went inside to grab my BB gun and was able to shoot about three. They ran off before I could see if they were mortally wounded or just nicked. I don't like to shoot any animal, but this has got to end. I would have tried to shoot more, but the hens were getting worried about the sound of the gun.
