Please forgive the lack of clarity in this photo, but this is what I came out to find when I let the chickens out to free-range. Really? No wonder the chicken food has been disappearing quickly. I just thought the hens were storing up for the winter, when in reality the rodents were taking it all! I am not comfortable putting down poison, even in the bait stations. I went inside to grab my BB gun and was able to shoot about three. They ran off before I could see if they were mortally wounded or just nicked. I don't like to shoot any animal, but this has got to end. I would have tried to shoot more, but the hens were getting worried about the sound of the gun.

Yea Annie O., you go girl !!! You are doing the right thing, you don't want them bringing diseases to the chickens and who can afford to feed those greedy rats!..Our electric chair hasn't produced anything yet, I think it was too cold for them to come out until now, we'll have to see. xo
Yuk..we used to get them when we had hens! Ran a competition with my husband to see who got rid of the most. He would shoot them, I used traps with lovely stawberry jam on them. I won 6 x 2!lol
