Here I am getting ready for my last chemo infusion. This was a day I have been waiting for, for eighteen weeks! I am truly a happy camper in this picture, and waiting to get on with life.
To pass the time during the infusion, I decided to color a picture that I will later matte and frame and give as a gift. I'ts a great way to be occupied while the infusion slowly drips the chemo into my body.
This is Claudia, my sweet friend who saw me through three of my six infusions. Claudia, herself, has also battled breast cancer with treatment similiar to mine.
This is my trusty IV pole that I named, "Fern". Fern and I were inseparatable during these infusions. One day, when there was a car accident near the oncology clinic and all the lights went out, Fern glowed brightly to light my way to the ladies room.
This lovely lady is Janet, my favorite nurse. She could access my port smoothly every time. I love her sense of humor and bright smile no matter how hectic her day was.
This is my brilliant Oncologist, Dr. Desai. He explains everything in plain english without talking down to you, and makes each step seem less scary and doable. I am glad that I was paired up with him to be my physician.
And here I am....finished! Woo Hoo! I am so pleased and so greatful to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for getting me through this leg of my journey. Now on to surgery in August, then radiation. I am a third of the way through my protocol! Can I hear an AMEN!
