Journey Of Lifetime

This handsome hunk of a feline, is Jake, my seventeen year old, diabetic cat.  He is lounging in my mother's arms during one of his "cozy moments".  We rescued Jake, after he was abandoned as a young cat.  Sadly, we had to say goodbye, for now, to him, as he made his journey to heaven on Tuesday March 16, 2010.  Up to his last days on this earth, Jake gave us joy and laughter and much love.  It has been hard letting go, however, he is at peace now and his spirit lives on within our hearts.

The day before we lost Jake, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.  It was a hard hit  and one I am still coming to grips with.  I do not intend on using this blog as an outlet for my cancer journey.  I will start a separate blog for that in which my readers can choose to read if they wish.  I want to keep this blog for my life outside of the cancer world.  I have much to share about my animals and my journey with making enriching bird toys for parrots.  Not to mention my passion with crafts and creativity in general.  Life is a grand journey not to be wasted on what we don't have, but in savoring the blessing that we do.

You are an inspiration to all with that uplifting attitude. On your journey to wellness I am sure you will touch many lives and you will be a blessing as well as being blessed.

Thanks for the uplifting words, as this is a time when I am in need of as many as I can get!

I am sorry to see your bad news. Inner strength comes from different sources for different people. Your faith and your love for animals will see you through.
