This is a picture of my Buff Orpington Zoe. Sadly, Zoe passed away last week. She was only 11 months old.

I don't see animals as just "things". I love them because they are living, breathing, feeling creatures of God. I mourned her passing. She was a great egg layer and a joy to be around.

On a brighter note, we will soon be getting six little chicks to add to our flock. I will hand raise them inside and when old enough, introduce them slowly to the established flock. I will get another Buff, however, Zoe can not be replaced. Buffs are beautiful and great egg layers. I love a flock with variety. Someday, I hope to add two Nigerian Dwarf goats to our homestead.
